Sulaiman Al Rajhi Colleges
A venture of the popular Saudi businessman philanthropist Sulaiman Al Rajhi, the SRC is a one of its kind, completely non-profit university spread over an expanse of 100,000 sq. m. (construction expected to finish by 2017). Over 40,000 students were admitted in a matter of 4 years under the faculty of medicine, engineering and medical sciences.
The SRC is a pioneer in being sanctioned by the Ministry of Higher Education to promote Problem Based Learning techniques being in the much conservative and Arabized locale of Saudi Arabia.
SRC is directly accredited by Maastricht University, Netherlands which makes it the first Saudi university providing an international university degree.

The Case Study
The university required a new-age, rich web portal integrated with their Blackboard Learn Student Information System (SIS) providing information and news on the general activities along with management of admissions applications and regular courses registration through the web portal.
Each application was crucial for the admission department to determine candidate qualification. Additionally the scope also required to acquire and validate student information via an API provided by the Ministry of Higher Education for students GPA check and make intelligent reports and auto-response emails to candidates.
Owing to the vast scope provided by SRC, it was important to determine the right tools and development platforms to base our solution and help future growth of the university. A framework was developed on a simple open-source CMS thereby cross integrated with third party applications. A separate registrant�s management solution was developed and integrated with the CMS to assist in managing candidate applications and provide reporting and custom Email and SMS templates for auto responses.
Additionally a social marketing program was deployed with a target to attain 500 unique monthly visits with a 20% quarterly increment in hits and branded with an internet wide design which was a first-ever approach for any university/college in KSA.
Consequently, the college admitted over 28,000 new students specifically in the term 2013-2014 resulting in higher revenue for the SRC and a unique web identity.
